How to Make a Monkey Mask

This is a great monkey craft for kids. It is super easy and really fun. You just need a paper plate, construction paper, scissors, yarn and glue.

How to Make a Monkey Mask - Materials
What You Need: 
  • Construction Paper (for the face and ears)
  • Paper Plate
  • Crayons/Markers
  • Paint (optional)
  • Yarn or Ribbon
  • Hole Punch
  • Glue
  • Scissors
What You Do: 
  1. Use paint/crayons/markers to color the paper plate whatever color you want your monkey to be. 
  2. Cut the face and ears out of the construction paper. (Click here for the template for the Monkey Paper Plate or at the bottom of the instructions.)
  3. Cut holes in your paper plate where the eyes are so you can see with it on.
  4. Staple or glue the ears to the mask.
  5. Punch holes in the sides of the plate and string the yarn/ribbon through. Tie a knot on each side of the plate.
  6. Wear your monkey mask with pride!

I'm sensing a monkey theme in your crafts! I'm guessing either your child loves monkeys or he's a "little monkey" himself. Either way, I love it and am so impressed with how well these animal crafts come out! I can't draw at all, but this looks so easy that it really would look like a monkey even with my lack of art skills. I think a cat would be cute too :)

I understand. I'm not the greatest when it comes to artistic skills, but I have found things that I (we) can do, so I figure everyone can do them. wink

And, I have a cat coming up. Hopefully soon. Maybe after the Christmas season.
